Any Military Vehicle fans out there?

    Hey all,

Just wondering if there are any military truck fans out there? I'm looking into getting an m35a2 or m35a3.

The only advantage to an m35a3 that I can see is its got power steering, and a higher top speed. I dont know that I consider the auto to be an advantage but who knows, might be nice to not have to worry about shifting.

Any opinions on the two or personal experience?

What kind of military vehicles do you have?

just so you know, BE CAREFULL when you buy a used mikitary vehicle. Being in myself; i see what hell they go through. Also we use just about any vehicle made in the US today or are you just looking for the older ones?

I thought the military closed the loophole allowing decomissioned vehicles to be sold?

I'm only interested in older ones like Deuces and 5 ton trucks. Currently I'm looking at a few M35A2 Deuce and a halfs.

Stealthee: Currently the only restrictions are you have to fill out an EUC and then fill out an SF97 (cant remember the number) form for security checks and whatnot. Along with of course being an American Citizen not planning to export them etc etc. I just won an M105A2 and I was just bidding on a couple M35A2's.

The nice thing about military vehicles is they go through constant maitenance. Im in Iraq right now and we do checks and services every day not a day goes by that we dont check every fluid levels. Im a big fan of the uparmored humvees with a 6.0 turbo you cant go wrong. Iv got somepictures of some of the armys newest tactical vehicles with top mount wepon system where the gunner sits inside the vehicle and uses the weapon like a video game. Also its harder to buy militry vehicles due to the fact that most of them are being stripped down and recycled. They do sell some of the older duces when a national guard unit gets the new LMTV in. If your looking for an older one it shouldnt be to hard to find.
