Got report back from the machine shop.
"The blaster blasted all the smooth surfaces on the head so the camshaft journals, lifter holes, etc are not machined smooth as they should be. The best thing is to start with another head."

I am waiting to hear and see if anything can be saved on the head. I was doing a bit of searching and saw that people have the cam journals honed as a resolution to this problem. Anyone have any experience or input on this? Any idea on the cost? Only really considering this because the heads are ported. When I took the cam caps off, the cams still felt smooth to the touch but i did not measure them to see if they were still in spec.

It is looking like I am gonna go that route. Currently trying to find a reputable seller on the forums who has a set for sale. Really just want to get the car up and running again so I finally enjoy it. The stock bottom end is probably still going to be the bottleneck with e85 anyway.

I'd say that's best, to many known and unknown stuff with these heads.

    I'd say so

Edit: they are 91-92 heads, other than the cam I can't remember what else was different at the moment.
