    1992 GTO Build/Restore.

Hello, ladies and gentlemen. I'm sure as many of you know I have been around the forums for years now, however due to a sticky spot in life... I was forced to give up my 1991 GTO twin gt-35 build and lost touch with the 3/S community, which I missed considerably!

I have since acquired a 1992 glasstop, GTO in sandstone grey. The car was purchased with a blown engine with the cause being two spun rod bearings, to the point where the rods were bent and welding themselves to the crankshaft. After tearing down my engines, I concluded that the block I had taken out of the car was going to be my best option. After soaking and cleaning the block in Pro-sol, I began the reassembly with a new cast crank (for now) and all new/refreshed parts. But enough with the yammering... here's some pictures!

The day I bought her. Filthy beaten and in desperate need of some TLC.

While waiting for engine work to be done, I got bored with the interior and got creative. There are a few small wrinkles, but nothing overly noticeable.

Also got the exterior of the car cleaned up to near mint.

Put Stealth sails and windows in.

Fixed the massive dent in the fender, still need to have it painted though.

    And the mods start!

Engine finished! Just have to drop it in and set the time.

Red GTO's yes, but they were badly torn up as with much of the interior.

Thought so. What you have there is a Mitsubishi GTO Special Version. I think only 300 exist for that year (another 300 in 93 only). They were all sandstone grey and had the gto seats. If you PM me the vin I can confirm it 100%.

Now that you've told me this, everything I'm reading is making it look to be true. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, I'll send you a PM with the vin sometime tomorrow.

I'm very happy I kept all of my original parts now lol.
