Tell me about it. I look at things on my Grand Prix and just shake my head in amazement. Things like the infamous "coolant elbows" on the 3800's. You would have though GM would have come up with a fix early on, instead of staying the line through the end of production. Looking at the fender wells of my car they are unpainted. Well, there is some kind of clear, but it is raw metal, not black. The paint in the door jams and underhood is light. Backlighting on the factory radio, HVAC, etc are notorious for crapping out.
They did finally fix a lot of the LIM issues by going away from the plastic gaskets in 05, but it took way too long for it to happen.
The list could go on, but you get the point.
Even build quality on the Vette has been lacking. Haven't heard much about the C7 though.

That's like some of the lines on my Grand Prix don't even make any sense. The way the headlights "bulge", the front lip of the hood, etc. It's like someone was drunk and was just like, "yeah, that works."
wow that's sad especially considering the C7 was suppose to improve so many things over any past generation. they even went as far designing pretty much everything on the car from scratch and don't use hardly any carry over stuff from the C6. oh well can't win them all.
I will say one thing though the new vette is getting some pretty impressive lap times and the new zo6 is supposed to fair even better then the zr1.
It started with the Ford Fusion & the "shaver-grille" on the Solstice. Then Mazda grabbed it (Furai, etc), and it's gone downhill from there.
Hybrid GTR means that it's going to weigh 5000 lbs. Meh. GM's suck--and will continue to suck. I still can't believe that a certain someone opted for a CTS over a CLA. Kia? I dunno what happened in the late 1990's early 2000's--that said, my 1994 has had 35,000 km on it since I got it, and it's purring along just fine. 80hp is noticably anemic on the Autobahn though... Still, I have gotten it to around 160 kph, which still feels safer than my old Ford Escort did at ~85 mph.
Mitsubishi ain't coming back to the states. I think most of their market is actually in Asia currently. I don't see a lot in Europe, but there are a fair share of L200's & some small SUV's. The L200 is just another in a long line of "vehicles I'd buy if they were available in the states". I still don't know WTF VW hasn't brought the Scirocco to the states--especially in turbo AWD form.
And, imho, owning a corvette is like being married to a porn star. Sure, at first glance, it's just WONDERFUL looking. But then you get to know it and you're like, "DAYUM this bitch has SERIOUS issues".
The interior has come a LONG way on the c7...yeah the body is flimsy...but it weighs in the sub 3k category as well...you can't have your cake and eat it too....
With that being said, C6 Z06 for me please...
The only improvements the c7 made over the c6 were the headlights & the steering wheel. I still can't get used to the grille, the tails & the a-pillars being a different color than the c-pillars.
