    1997 3000gt vr4 $10800

    1997 $ 9500

Asking $9,500. Just under 63,000 miles, stock VR-4 with Cobra replica wheels.

I just bought this car from an older gentleman who was the second owner because I got a great deal on it. I'm debating between keeping it and modding it or flipping it and figured I might as well post it up and see what happens.

The car is bone stock except for the wheels and an aftermarket downpipe that was put on to replace the leaking stock pipe. Originally purchased in Florida, then bought by the last owner and spent a lot of time garaged in Michigan. Never seen snow. Body is in decent shape, one small but noticeable dent in the driver's door and general wear and tear. Passenger side A-pillar has some clear coat damage and should be replaced/refinished and the driver's side door has some rust on the inside lower rear corner. Other than that, pretty clean car inside and out.

Mechanically, the only real issue is that the 3rd gear synchro seems to be a little worn. During every day driving, it's not noticeable, but if you try to slam it from 2nd to 3rd, it will grind a little. I'm thinking I might change the transmission fluid and see if that fixes it. If not, the synchro will need to be replaced at some point. Also, if you get on it a little, then let off and allow the engine to slow the car down for 5-10 seconds, then hit the throttle again, you will get a puff of smoke out the exhaust. I think it is just an EGR/spark plug issue, as the 60k needs to be done and plugs changed, but it could also be a small oil leak from one of the turbos under boost. The oil level has not dropped at all since I bought it.

Yep, in Michigan and stock radio.

Thanks, Coop! Car was a great find and I got a great deal, so I had to pick it up. I'm tempted to keep it, but I know I'll get carried away with modding, so I'm trying to flip it before I start getting ideas.
