    O2 pinouts?

    Hello 3sgto

I'm posting up here because I'm stuck (still) with this flash ecu. I replaced the clutch in my 91 tt GTO, and am now working through the 400 mile break in. I'm hoping to get the small issues sorted out now, so once I do hit that 400 miles, I will be able to start tuning the car and having some fun with it. I really have 2 issues:

    1. Evoscan does not register any fuel trims. At all. They read 0 from start up to shut down, no matter what I do. I replaced my O2 sensor, re flashed the ecu with the second O2 periphery on, and off, with no change whatsoever. The length of drive doesn't make a difference either. I've been out for up to an hour at a time and still nothing. I have a battery disconnect, but have left it on for the past 2 weeks and that hasn't made a difference either.

    2. My idle will NOT drop below 1000rpm. The only time I'm able to make it drop to the 650 it's set at in evoscan, is when I manually put it into SAS mode, and then it will idle down, but as soon as I uncheck the box in evoscan (or unground the pin under the hood) it jumps back up to 1000.

Can anyone help me? I've been seriously considering wiring in another O2 sensor for my PNP ecu, but I can't find a pinout anywhere that labels where everything needs to go; and will that even help me, if I do get it wired in? I am getting realy disheartened with this whole setup. If I put the stock ecu back in, the car runs like a champ. Seriously, I'm willing to paypal or e transfer money to anyone willing to help. Thanks

    Kyle.

Did you set the idle per:
    http://www.3sgto.org/tuning-engine-e...roper-way.html

Did you mess with any target idle settings in the rom?

Can you post a log up?

    O2 pinouts?

I did set the idle as per the link. Or tried to, it won't take. The only thing I did change was the target idle with the AC on, I put that to 650 as well. I'll post up a log later tonight. I'm assuming a 10 minute log will do?

***edit: I double checked my latest flash setup that's in the car, and I didn't change the target idle rpms, they're still 650 and 750 for AC off/on.

Great. Even zipped the log is 587kb. Is there any way to post files that large here now?

Use Google Docs to share the log. Pin 93 is an input for a 0-5 Volt wideband. Per This Thread

    Odd.

When it comes to idle, the ECU has to consider 2 things:

    *closed loop
    *target idle

The first one take the priority. It will just let the motor sit at 1000rpms if the O2s are cycling.

Are you running a stock PCV setup? Do you have any intake leaks? What MAF are you running?

White92vr4: I'll have to post up the log using google docs later. I only have my ipad with me out of town at the moment. I already have my wideband wired in on pin 93. That works great, but from what I understand, the ECM doesn't care about the wideband for any running calculations?

Greg E: At the moment the intake /PCV setup is damn near stock. (Vac. Reduction and a conical air filter being the only minor variations. ) PCV itself was replaced less than 50 hours run time ago.

I've pressure tested multiple times, and no leaks. Had all the intake manifolds planed and used new gaskets to make sure this wasn't going to be an issue.

    OEM MAF.

The last log I did leads me to believe my narrowband O2 sensor has packed it in,( well that and the wideband sits at 11-12 at idle) I've got 2 new ones on the way, and I'm going to wire in the second one as per the pin out on stealth316. (Pin 56 it looks like, with a 5v reference from 63?). Here's hoping that will get me somewhere...

Ah okay. Remove that air filter and set it back up like stock. Should fix your idle issue.

I've never had a stock intake on the car. I purchased it with one of the hks intake already on the car, and as a huge disbeliever in foam air filters, I put a conical dry filter on. It never caused any idle variations when I put it on initially, with the stock ECM. These issues never showed up until I put the flash ECM in.

I just realized we probably aren't talking about the same filter. Normally people put vents on their valve covers and it causes idle issues. This is what I thought you were saying you did.

If your PCV system is setup like stock, then I'd start with an intake leak test.
