My VR4 Flywheel is toast. Advice on lightweight or stock please :-)

Advice please. I just looked at my flywheel and its done! It looks like every previous owner was a wannabe racer that wore the plates down to the rivets and beyond! My question is OEM flywheel or lightweight flywheel. I like the way lightweight flywheels respond but I also like the way OEM flywheels cruise. Can anyone help me decide and post pros and cons. Thank you

I personally run a stock flywheel. I had a RPS lightweight flywheel in my 95 when I bought it and I replaced it with a stock flywheel. The RPS flywheel drove fine, I didn't have any complaints about it but there are two main reasons I switched. First was cost. It was WAY cheaper for me to get a used stock flywheel and have it resurfaced than to get replacement faceplates for my RPS. The second is that stock weight flywheels are supposed to help dampen the harmonics of the crankshaft in conjunction with the stock harmonic dampener. I'm also a lot more likely to launch my car than quickly downshift so the stock flywheel was the better option for me. If you want to road race your car, then the lightweight one might be the better option for you.

There's a third option, lightweight steel. I got mine from Ninja, I like it a lot. It's lighter than stock but heavier than aluminum.

Can't offer a comparison since I have only used stock but I have a good stock flywheel I could sell if you need one.

Have the chromoly steel one myself, its great. Best thing with the fidanza it is serviceable by replacing the face however, these you would just 2 step at a machine shop if you had to.
