2014 Throttle Body Rebuild Service *I'm back*

    Note: Cores in stock right now- (2) 91/92 ; (2) 93/94 ; (3) 96/97. I can easily make a 96/97 work for a 98/99 by removing one vacuum port.

Update: I'm currently getting a lot of bad FIAVs. However, I can fix them so they function again. If I have to do this to your throttle body it will be extra $10 because I have to remove the freeze plug and adjust the the inner part of the FIAV. Then reinstall a freeze plug. If you send in your core, and the FIAV needs to be disassembled, I will deduct $10 from the core refund

I'm back. After evaluating my services, I have really been undercharging for the last couple of years or so. I do more than most, especially when it comes to the exterior. I will clean & paint all the rusty parts that most neglect (dashpot/springs/spring plate). I've rebuilt well over 100 throttle bodies, I have the bills from Cherry Hill, Mil-Spec, and STM to prove it LOL.

Throttle bodies are completely disassembled, cleaned, exterior bead blasted, re-cleaned to get out any rogue bead material, and put back together. All new bolts are used when I put them back together- Stainless Steel Socket head bolts. Throttle plate has been polished. I also re-coat the spring, spring plate, and dashpot (throttle damper) to prevent rust.

TPS sensor has been tested, and the TPS sensor will be set. I do not include an ISC anymore.

I always suggest buying a new ISC if yours is original (aluminum housing). Even though yours may still be good, it's only a matter of time before they go bad. I recommend this particular one: AC99 Idle Air Control Valve IAC | eBay

If you want an OEM ISC, you can purchase one from here: DSMISC Automotive (New ISC Supplier)

If your TB is all original, I can guarantee you the shaft seals are shot, as well as the BISS oring. It has nothing to do with the mileage either, because my Spyder had bad shaft seals at 27K miles. If you have done a TT conversion and used your NA TB, you don't even have reinforced seals... you have a rubber collar oring which will not hold boost.

    New parts:

STM Throttle body shaft seals (2) (same seals as Mil-Spec)
New throttle plate shaft screws with Loctite Red and peened
    BISS screw, o-ring, and plug
    ISC/IAC o-ring
    ISC bolts
    FIAV o-ring/gasket
    FIAV bolts
    Dashpot bolts
New Throttle Body gasket- the metal one

These seals keep the throttle plate shaft centered and positioned in the throttle body. When they wear out, they can cause leaks, sticking, and jamming of the throttle plate.

We tested a car on our dyno at STM with OEM leaky seals...
Replaced those seals with the MIL.SPEC seals...
Picked up 20 whp and 20 ft pounds! Holy Boost Leak!

Price is $140 shipped (USA) + your core. International shipping is extra. You can either send your core in first or pay a refundable core charge (see below for core prices). Core must be complete and useable. If you want to keep your sensors, let me know.

    Core charges:
*91-92: $50 (the one with the dashpot w/ vacuum line)
*93-95: $60 (the one with the "black hat" dashpot)
    *96-99: $75 (if I have a core in stock)

    Optional Services:
    *Polished: $60
    *Vacuum port delete: $15
    *FIAV Bypass: $15
    *FIAV Blockoff: $15

I can usually have them shipped same day as payment, or the next day. If you want a polished one, it will be about a week.

Have any questions feel free to ask.

I will send you an invoice through PayPal, PM me with your PayPal address, what year TB, and any addition services you would like.

VACUUM PORT DELETE- For those who have done the Vacuum Reduction

This mod is only for those who have done the vacuum reduction! Tired of the vacuum caps still leaking or dry rotting. Well, I have permanent fix for that. I pull out the vacuum ports, drill and tap them, and put in a set screw. Guaranteed never to leak or rot LOL.

Correct installation of the throttle body gasket **been getting some people installing them backwards, which will cause a vacuum leak**

Make sure the little tab is closest to the firewall, or your dashpot. And a properly installed TB gasket should NEVER need any kind of RTV. See picture below.

The following post is a testimonial.

I was perfectly satisfied with the way my car ran, but as a caution, and also to be sure I'd eliminated every last vestige of a boost leak, I obtained one of April's rebuilds.

After a quick shave in the the mirror-like throttle-plate, I installed the TB and set the idle to spec.

I was struck by the unanticipated increase in drivability and smoothness - like butter, as they say.

Also had a bit of the exhaust rasp go away (intermitent lean condition from tiny intake leak?), so it's a little more pleasing to the ear.

    Big thumbs-up - highly recommended!

Powder coating? I don't do powder coating at all, nor do I know anybody local that does it. If you really wanted I could paint it, I'm pretty good with it and it should not flake off like most I've seen (since I clean and bead blast them).

I'm just thinking so I can have it perfect match my plenum and pipes.

I'll have to decide which way I want to go. either way will include your rebuilding service though.

How much do you charge for a new dashpot? Mine is a bit messed up due to a run in with older motormounts and a very close sitting PRM/Carbing strut brace.

edit: I must have missed it in my first read through.
