    2.5k-3k rpm stumble after e85 swap vr4

Okay so I read jfasts right up on the stock ecu on the vr4 platform. So I replicated what he did... And now the car stumbles at 2.5-3k hard and then feels like I'm only using half throttle? Ideas? Thoughts? I was thinking maybe my fuel filter got clogged after draining the gas out?

I'm assuming it didn't do this with pump? Do you have anything to log with?

That's your windshield washer squirter pump.

Is your car stock? Regardless of what he said I still find it hard to believe that the stock injectors and pump are capable of supporting 30% more flow needed for e85. Not to mention the stock ECU's capability to adjust for it. I'm glad someone else is trying it though, good luck!

Thanks boss and she seems fine just need to figure this hickup out.. Showing symptoms of clogged filter. Hope that's it. Like I said power is gone even if it is still accelerating. I'll figure it out either was she's stock but I will be throwing in some DSM injectors in soon

    This

Can you post the jfast link? If you are running stock injectors and pump I'm pretty sure it's not going to work right.

I have also heard the DSM 450s will swap right in and the ECU would adjust for them. I'd like to see what you find.

Its ignorant to try to do this. There are tons of fueling changes, even beyond just rescaling the injectors to make the e85 run right. With chrome I have had to change the fuel map a lot. The car wants more fuel at the range you are talking about in my case.

Best bet if you must do this is to run 450s and the wit may fall in the 12.0:1 range you want naturally since the ecu is setup to run 10:1.

I would get fuel control, otherwise there is no current benefit to running e85 with what you have.

Benefit is 2.95 a gal, and 5 stations within a few miles of my school.. This is to make full ups way cheaper I'll end up with chrome way later on but no ones having issues with the stockies running e85
