    "Bonging" Sound From Springs

    94 RT Turbo, K-Sport coilovers.

When turning the wheel I hear a distinct "bong" sound coming from the front right wheel several times from lock-to-lock. Started looking and see the spring hold still, then "snaps" into place, associated with the sound. Any idea why this is happening?

Seems like the spring is maybe loose on the shock and is catching somehow?

side effect of not having a torrington bearing to separate rotational movement from the spring set. sounds like your pillow ball bearing is seized.

My Ksports did this when they were new. I don't know if the sound went away or if I just became numb to it.

Thanks, guys. Looks like "Coil Bind" is the culprit. Going to pull the strut off and clean/grease it and see if that helps.
