My wife's car started perfect one day then not at all the next morning. Batteries are funny that way. And stealthee is right, a bad alternator can kill it.

    Just checked the battery. 12.4v

    I guess it's a short.

I'd still try to swap another battery in, just to totally eliminate it totally.

Just because you put 12v in it doesn't mean it can take a load. Run it down to autozone or another parts store and have them load test it. A short normally drains the battery over time (short or long), it usually won't keep the car from starting with a charged battery.

Swapped battery, still no dice. I have no power to anything whatsoever.

    Check your grounds.

What would I be looking for to check grounds? I'm not an electrical guy.

You need to look to make sure all connections are tight and secure. You also need to check fuses, both underhood and underdash.

That's crazy. Check both battery terminals. Were there sparks when you put the terminals on? If not then a short is less likely. If there were a short you usually see sparks when you put the second terminal on, kind of like if the lights were on or key on when you hook up the battery.

I removed the wires from their respective terminal and they're pretty corroded, so I'm going to go to Canadian Tire tomorrow and see if I can get new terminals, clean up the wiring, and clean the batter.

    Will report back!
