Wouldn't be surprised if it had been in an accident that damaged the front end. Pics of the engine bay show paint on the brake lines and what appears to be on the AC lines going to the drier as well. Hood struts have been unbolted from the hood, but has the actual hood been unbolted?
At any rate, looks like the engine bay has been sprayed and could explain the hood fitment issue, and possibly even why it needed the engine rebuilt if the mileage really was that low. Just speculation at this point, but I would take everything with a grain of salt for this car.
Mods: 2g 3k body conversion, 2g Brake upgrade, Rota P45R rims
Projects: Interior sound deadening, 14Bs, forged bottom end, custom radiator and sound mounts
What more do you want to know? Its a non turbo Stealth with a shady history. From here its a matter of putting together all the missing parts (obvious being the intake tubes) and seeing if you can get it to run. Its not a very highly desired car or anything but if you like it, its time to get your hands dirty and ask questions when you get stuck.

based on the interior wear and the fact that the odometer looks tampered with I'd say someone reset the odometer to zero at some point.

Yes the hood was removed completely and never bolted back on... that's really all the info I needed I just thought he was doing carfax on it or something. Thank you guys for the EXTREMELY detailed help!!
Yeah I'm thinking the same thing about the odo. But I have no idea what's been done to the car, or even if the engine was rebuilt.I was told it was, but as far as I know... I don't.lol
But for a free car, I'm not complaining.
IF that engine has been sitting since 07, it will need a full 60k maintenance done including water pump, all fluids changed. As mentioned I highly doubt the odo is accurate. I would get in bed with the service manuals, put back together, get it running, and see if it is even worth spending the cash on the maintenance items needed. Do not be surprised if it sounds like BB machinegun shot at a tin plate when you get it started. Lifters will take time, and rpm to get primed again. Yank the fuel filter, and drain the tank.
You will be learning a lot about these cars quick to pull this off.
Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!
