    oohnoo - Large SMIC's :)

I've been promising this for a while now but the time has finally come for me to start making some large SMIC's. I made a mock-up (9.2 width) and test fitted it on my car with a '99 front. While it was tight it did fit but I cut it down slightly to a 8.8 width to give it some more wiggle room.. Going to Ray's tomorrow to test fit it on a few cars there. Once I'm satisfied I'll order a couple sets of the cores to fab up. Once that's done Ray has agreed to test them on his DR750 car.
Here are some specs on the ones I'll be making which I'm a little tossed on and looking for input. The cores themselves will be BELL Intercoolers with the following dimension and cfm ratings. Tossed between these two as the smaller one give me some breathing room.

Adding 8.1" core to the list

    Width x Height x Thickness
    8.1" x 8" x 4.5" - 683cfm
    8.5" x 8" x 4.5" - 717cfm
    8.8" x 8" x 4.5" - 742cfm

    8.1" x 6" x 4.5" - 701cfm

Here's are some pics of my mock-up and the end tanks I'll be making. I'm also tossed on the piping whether to just have simple turns as shown or make them with piping like the oem or the DSM's I convert.....Oh and they will have 2" piping with transitions on the ends to what ever size you need (OEM 1 5/8" or larger 1 3/4" which will mate up perfectly with DNPerformance or CX Racing pipes or leave them at 2".

Oh and did I mention these should be priced under 1k . Not sure on exact total as there's to many variables at this time.

Pipe shown here is 1 3/4".

Interested Can they work with the stock mounting points and stock OC as well? Can you make them work with stock hoses?

Don't think they can pick up both mounting holes as these are wider than that. Probably will be able to use the rear most bolt but not to worry as I'll be sure to make it secure. Same with the OC and even the front air dams. More than likely I'll offer it with your choice of piping, 1 3/4" piping reducing down to 1 5/8" like I do with my DualCore FMIC and also 2" piping for the big power guys.

I probably won't be a big power guy but don't want the SMIC and pipes holding back what I get push on 91 pump.
