I have driven my car at approx 5-550awhp on 4g auto, 3.0 6g auto, 3.0 manual and 3.5 manual. I would say 3.5 manual "felt" the fastest/most powerful because of torque, but the autos would be quicker in 1/4. With auto, you don't get the re-torque of head and body on each shift. Now the 4g auto at 600+ definitely felt faster but that's not a fair comparison.

I just can't get enough of a launch and the 1 to 2 shift. It's an addiction. That's what I think everyone should experience before calling an auto boring. We'll see how quick it actually is when I hit the track this spring. I don't have the 2.0 launch dialed in as well as 2.4 was yet. Need some warmer weather. Roads have been too damp or cold.

For what it's worth I rev my 4g to 9,000 with just upgraded springs and stock steel retainers. If I have any issues at higher boost, 45ish psi, I'll go to the kiggly's with steel retainers.

I'm anxious to see what you can run with the 2.0 cranked up.

Autos can definitely be fun! I originally had a 4l80e beast of a transmission for my build but opted for the manual to make it less hot rod swap-ish. Only time auto's get boring are 3rd gear and beyond.

Someday Ima snag a ride in a badass DSM...
Ranked No. #1 in initial quality

Idiots, simply by being idiots, seem capable of achieving randomly bad things that are beyond the imaginings of sensible people.

You should go to the Dsm shootout. It's in Northern Ohio, so it's not a bad trip for you.

    When is it?

This is a horrible time to forecast anything for the new year, but I gotta start somewhere...

    The Shootout, 24th annual

I'll probably go this year. If I run my car it would be in stock appearing. Pretty sure the car in this thread, and a few other 3s's will be there as well.

    Nice, thanks, donnie.

Now, let's see if I can do something about it.

Two of the pics in my sig are from last year's shootout.

And yes, I'll be there. Can't give you a ride in a DSM but I can in a 3SM.
