Do you realize that NG14 is just over one month away?! I can't believe it!! This week, Alan and I are headed to Pittsburgh to finalize some of the details to make this NG perfect. I'm so excited to see everyone again!! But first, there are a few important reminders...
First, we've blocked rooms at a hotel located just about 2 miles from the track. Apparently there's a huge construction project somewhere in the area (it won't interfere with us, but we'll double-check that while we're there) and constructions workers are staying in local hotels, filling them completely. Our hotel block will be released on SUNDAY, MAY 25th. That means you MUST have a room booked before then to receive our discounted rate, but also, most likely, to get a room at all. DO NOT FORGET THIS DATE. I can't help late registrations in any way. Hotels are always outside my reach.
Second, we're extending the registration period until May 25th to coincide with the hotel cut-off. After May 25th, late registration kicks in and prices go up about 20%. The specific prices can be seen on our website (3S National Gathering - June 24 - 29, 2014). This is also the time when t-shirts are ordered, banquet numbers are set, things like that, so the registration package changes, too. Late registrations are not guaranteed a t-shirt or a seat at the banquet. We have limited numbers for both of these items, and can only give them until we're full. That's not to say you won't get one - it's just not guaranteed.
If you're planning to purchase additional t-shirts on-line, I'm requesting that you do it now through our website. Each year, the NG orders extra t-shirts to be sold at registration. And each year, we guess wrong as to how many we need. I'm not a good mind-reader, though I've been working on that skill. And each year, someone gets upset with me because I'm out of something... So PLEASE... Could you PLEASE order your extras online for me? Our goal is to not order any extras, or very few. This will help save us a lot of money.
There's an exciting week planned at NG14 this year, equipped with plenty of free time for those old folks who need a break (i.e. Von Morgan). If everything continues as it has been, we'll be just barely getting into spring in Pittsburgh, so the temps should be great for you. And, of course, I've had a chat with those I know up above and have requested no rain. We'll see how much pull I have... I doubt it's much.
If you're racing this year, please note that the track has a strict helmet requirement - (from their website) "Helmets must meet Snell approved (SA, M, K, etc. are ok) for the current specification (2010) or two previous (2005 or 2000). " I've been told they're very strict about this.
Did you know that you can register for NG14 and only pay a portion of the total due? You can then make payments whenever you want. There is one catch... When the prices go up on the 25th, anything unpaid will also go up. People asked us for payment plans for years, and now Alan has done it. Woo-hoo Alan!!!
Have a great week/weekend, and we'll see you soon! Don't forget to take time to register for NG14!!
