Not at all. I draw no corollary between those things. All I said is that NE FANS are apologists for their team of cheating mutherfuckers. And THAT is what's similar to the PEOPLE WHO APOLOGIZE ATTEMPT TO RATIONALIZE ACTS OF TERRORISM.

So in this particular instance, I wasn't calling your team out (I do that plenty as it is). Nope, it's a direct insult at you.

I read that this morning. That journalist has so much built up hate for the Patriots its ridiculous. I am still curious as to what actually happened. I just saw a press conference with Belichick and he was pretty clear about having zero knowledge about this whole thing and even went a bit further by passing the buck to Brady saying he could better tell you about his football preferences. I realize most of you wouldnt ever believe anything from Belichick but he seemed to come off pretty honest and sincere to me. Brady will be speaking at 4:00 EST, looking forward to that.

Also there are rumors that the balls were discovered to be low on air at half time, but I haven't heard anything about whether or not the refs put air back in them. If they did in fact pump them up, it clearly hurt Brady's passing as he played so much better with the deflated balls in the first half.

Another point of interest is that if the balls were discovered under inflated during half time, and then had air put back in......when was this thorough investigation done to check all the balls with 2 different gauges and all that done and why didn't this news come out until Tuesday?

The best cheaters are pathological, narcissistic, pro-noid psychopaths. They believe that they rules simply do not apply to themselves; they are in fact above the rules. And if they are ever caught breaking the rules, they will invariably blame someone else, deny all knowledge, or claim that they "mis-interpreted the rules" (thanks, south park). Any RATIONAL person outside of NE can smell the stink rotting off this one from across the country.

Secondly, any team in ANY sport that has had the success that NE has had--if it were prudent--would be extremely vigilant about preventing any perceptions of impropriety. Of course with the NFL, there are no penalties--you get a proverbial slap on the wrist. Oh? You lose a draft pick? That's a 1st round pick...maybe? But you just won the super-bowl so that's the 32nd guy in the draft. Yeah....

It's not that that journalist has hate built up for NE. EVERYONE outside of NE has hate built up for this team. And not the "I hate them because they're so damn successful" hate that people have for the Yankees (myself included). No we're talking about a bitter, venomous hatred that is the direct result of a team that doesn't care about the rules one goddamn iota; a coach that is slipperier than a snake-oil salesman; and a QB that lies through his pearly-white teeth when he knows full fucking well everything that goes on. No NFL QB is NOT going to notice when a football is deflated by 2psi, you fucking piece of shit GOAT wannabee & undeserving mutherfucker.

So yes, I agree--the only real way to stop the shiens, is to wield the ban hammer with BOTH hands. How this shit flies--and has continue to fly for 10 years--yet Pete Rose is still a pariah....is just abhorrent. And that--to me--says all you need to know about corruption in the NFL.

Then it will simply establish a precedent and every other team will start trying to figure out ways to play dirtier than the patsies. Since after all, the NFL isn't going to really penalize anyone for breaking the rules.

Not saying cheating is anything but wrong. Not saying there aren't a million and one hypocritical double standards in myriad areas of sports, business, politics and life in general. But, as a culture, we tend to sanction "interpretation" and "bending" of rules............as long as WE are the recipients of the benefit from such. And, yes, we tend to deify the best of the "rules" interpreters when they are on "our" side and demonize them when they are the opposition..........But, at the end of the day, as Pogo said, "We have met the enemy. And he is us".
