PP doesn't work for me as I had my CC scammed 3 times in a 2 month period & my CC fraud dept traced it to PP. So I canceled my PP acct & no more problems. 2 months later it was on the news that they busted 7 people scamming CC's at PP (this happened at PP twice in a 2 yr period). I also found out PP is not Federally regulated so they can do just about anything they want (go into your checking acct-take funds-etc) without repercussion as per the contract you have with them. So I do things the old way when buying/selling=U.S. Postal Money Order sent Certified/Registered mail. Worked fine on Ebay for 8 yrs & still works great today.

Probably safe to assume that over 90% of anyone wanting to buy/sell in classifieds has paypal. An alternative for the other 10% would also be easy.

Address verification is very possible with paypal and is a large part of being fully "verified".
The physical address must match that of the credit card or bank account billing address on file.
It's a little different than the verification to lift payout limits.
Address checking process can be automated to a degree with API. All that is on their developers site (www.x.com).
If you are a full business account customer they help you for free. Paypal has excellent customer service to get complex website solutions done.

While they are not regulated as a bank they still have to meet many federal regulations for electronic money transfer as well as a credit card and debit card company here in the US. Actually, in Europe I believe they are now recently listed/licensed as a bank. They cannot just 'do what they want', lol. In contrast to those that have had problems, I've used paypal for over 10 years, thousands of transactions, never a problem. I also find their debit card very handy to use instead of my bank debit card. Doing so limits the transactions if stolen or compromised (much like a cc) and my actual bank account that holds the higher balance is then protected. Anyway, off-topic, just a tip.

Is your Info thread still showing on the Verification Forum? Besides the poster, Alan and the Mods are supposed to be the only ones that can view it. I posted my info thread at 9:03pm last night and the post is still there. However, it shows having 10 views! Don't know what's up with that! Pm'ed Alan with no reply. I don't feel comfortable with a photo of driver's license laying in the server for that long!

Thats what I was looking for I will look into it. It may take a bit to implement. I think I'll setup the "un-verified" option till I can setup the paypal thing.

Anyone waiting for verification I'm working long hours for the start of the week and I only do verifications from home. Please be patient. Hopefully I'll have time to run through them tonight.

Well if you are doing the PP thing then I won't be able to buy/sell here because I will not have a PP acct again. Go to Ebay & go into the community discussion forums & click on PayPal & read some of the complaints/nightmares people are having with them. As stated earlier my CC was scammed 3 times in 2 months at PP that will not happen again. I also occasionally sell on craigslist & they do a phone verification every few months to make sure you are still at your listed phone number. You may want to think about that option for folks that don't have a PP acct.

I've had my say regarding this level of verification for a car forum classified. I choose not to participate due to what I feel is excessive intrusion of personal info. That's my opinion and my personal decision.
I respect the forum owner/operator wishes to do whatever they think is approproriate. I hope you figure something out that is good for everyones security as well as the level of validation you seek.

With that being said, please respect MY wishes to remove/delete my posted personal information as requested.
It is apparently insufficient for this forum so please delete it since you do not accept it. I'm fine with not selling here.
This is now my 4th request and my posted data has been viewed 8 times (by who?).
You have purposely locked the edit feature. Due to this I have to request it be removed.

This lack of response just reinforces my concerns about providing in-depth personal information here.
I realize people are busy. Most of us are.
It does not alleviate the responsibility of properly handling personal information, especially when solicited or pointedly requested.

I've asked nicely now several times. I would like my request respected please.
    Thanks.

The thread we have all posted our info into is a common thread. It's just setup in a way that means you can only see your own thread. Your thread prob counts views every time you look at it or every time Alan looks at the entire thread.
