    Slave cyl question

    Slave Cylinder 91 AWD - Build thru Feb 91 - 9102.1, 91-99 FWD (blue)
Slave Cylinder 92-99 AWD - Build 9102.2+ (grey)
Who can tell me the difference between these two? From what I thought the 2nd gen AWD is longer and thinner for a longer stroke. It does look longer in the pic. I bought a FWD type because I thought I'd have an easier pedal but I don't think I'm getting a long enough stroke making it harder to get in gear. For those that don't know my car is an AWD conversion so I'm using a FWD master.

I have a thread on this on the old site. One has a 3/4" bore piston and the other is 11/16". Externally the same.

I don't think the FWD slave would create an easier pedal. The FWD comes from the factory with a clutch fluid damper that mounts to the trans and is between the master and slave. It creates an "easier" pedal, but it also creates issues with bleeding, etc. I deleted my damper and it made the pedal a little stiffer and it feels more "mechanical."

Pretty sure you were the one that told me this before (AWD slave has a narrower bore)

Think about it, shorter throw = easier throw, but not necessarily a long enough throw. How much easier is another debate. All my NA dampener crap is gone now. Braided line to hard line.

The only difference is the bore. The blue one was replaced by the grey one according to ASA.

Does anybody have the exact bore and stroke of both of these?
