My mom was talking to me today and said one of my aunt's asked her how my new job was going. She said she told her that she can already see a change in my whole demeanor.

I come home tired if I'm helping in the shop, but it is a good kind of tired. It's a physical tired from doing physical work. It isn't a mental tired from being beat down mentally and being stressed out. I'm even going in tomorrow (Sunday) just to help get some more hoses made for a huge order we have. With four of us being there and no phone ringing off the hook we should be able to knock some stuff out.

Nice to see people doing things the right way. I've seen people get all worked up, make no plans to change anything, and just walk out and quit when they can't take any more.

I think the phone calls from Russ and Dave are finally coming to an end, although last week Russ did text me and said something along the lines of "No word on any openings? I'll take anything to get out of here" LOL

I have been there for 8 weeks now, and have added over 7,500 miles to the truck.

Oh, and I was out at the shop again a few weeks back and Jason happened to pull in. He wouldn't even look in my direction.

I just had a similar experience but in IT...

Idiot IT manager... PMO morons... fired my boss because she wanted fired. I walked in the middle of a huge project, no coverage on my 4 systems I took care of...

then they go to the open office... no cubes because they think you are surfing facebook all day... FINE look at peoples logs...

I quit... gave em two weeks, they had to hire 2 people to do my job at way more money and had to bring two people back into my area to cover my other systems(1 full, 1 part time)... My boss got fired, my one co worker quit, I quit... they hired 3 people who are clueless chumps. Forced one guy back and another back part time... huge system upgrade pretty much gone... This is a fortune 500 company run by morons.

I got a nice raise, casual environment, cubes and quiet to program and get my career back up to speed. Bosses are relaxed, doing things right. Environment is way better. Like night and day.

Got another quick update today. Russ texted me to tell me that the accounts guy was quitting.

Since January they have had a 18 year employee quit, a 4.5 year employee quit (me), and a 16 year employee quit, and its just over halfway through the year,

I just thought this one was worth a mention. There have been other things going on that I have heard that I didn't feel were worth a mention here.

As for good updates I can tell you that my new boss rocks. When I first started I told him about needing July 3rd off since I already had plans to attend the NHRA Summit Nationals in Norwalk, OH. He told me at that time that it wouldn't be an issue and I should even have a sick day built up by then. Last week before I went out of town I asked him about the sick day and he looked into it and said for some reason my pay stub wasn't showing any yet, but that he would look into it.

Well, I am still not exactly sure how the sick days acquire yet, but I looked at my log in with my hours the other day and my boss just added in 8 hours for Thursday, so I got paid for it without having a sick day.

So I got a call from one of the guys at my old job yesterday. He mainly needed to pick my brain about something and was telling me about some of the crap going on now. Toward the end of the conversation he stated, "Now I understand why you were the way you were at times. If I ever gave you a hard time or whatever I 100% sincerely apologize. I don't know how you did it for all those years."

I laughed and told him it was all good.

The next day though he texted me to tell me I was getting blamed for something going on now that involves a brand new customer. I just responded LOL because there was nothing better to say.

Well, let's finish this off with one last update.

Russ, from my previous posts, texted me last week and said "Dude your gonna laugh.. we haven't had sheet truck deliver for over a month"

For the slow, that means no production for over a month. LOL

Anyway, after my response he goes on to inform me that he had a job interview the previous day that went really well. I wished him luck and we went back and forth a few more times then ceased the conversation.

He texts me earlier and says "You can go head and call me The Gap Band cuz I'm bout to drop a bomb on em tomorrow"

I asked if he got the job and he responds "The gave me a "contingent" job offer last week.. as long as I passed the drug screen the medical and the physical it was mine..which I passed all 3"

Our conversation went on from there about how this is going to drive the nail in the coffin. Russ has been there for around 10 years. He knows the thermoforming machine inside and out. No one knows it like he does. The only other one close is Adam and while a good guy, not the brightest crayon in the box. He's also very jaded from working for that place for so long so he is also very unmotivated. Hopefully this will motivate him to finally move on too.

I am sure this move will cause me to get a few more phone calls from previously mentioned Dave as I am sure they are going to try to dump even more on his plate because they are too ignorant to hire people to replace people that leave. Maybe it will finally encourage him to to get out of there too.

Ok, ok, I know I said no more, but this was too good to let go.

Since the last update, Russ indeed did move on to greener pastures. The aforementioned Dave as well left.

I got a phone call tonight from Tom. He's the shop maintenance man. The guy is one hell of a redneck engineer, and has kept that place running for over 10 years. He told me he walked into the supervisors office this morning and said, "Bad news boss. Friday will be my last day."

He said the supervisor's jaw dropped and he looked like he wanted to cry. After a long pause he responded, "You're going to have to tell Mark."

Long story short, he talked to Mark and laid it all out on the line about why he is leaving.

So in the 20 months the company as a whole has lost:

an 18 year employee, a 4.5 year employee, a 16 year employee, a 10 year employee, a 7 year employee, and an 11 year employee.

They also had an employee arrested by the FBI and another employee accidentally set fire to the "new" building and cause approximately 2.1 million dollars in damage.
