Stolen Valor... you know it's really shitty that said story you guys play off of has been taken so far out of context.

When I was in Ranger Battalion I had an asshole of a PL. He was just an assbag. During block leave at one of the Ranger Ball outings I took his coat off his chair while he excused himself and grabbed his girlfriend and posed in a picture with her with a big thumbs up.

The guys in my squad thought it would be funny as shit, and it was. So we put it on display during a pre deployment walkthrough. It was funny until he caught wind of it. When he saw it he immediately ordered the other platoon members to destroy me for it because it pissed him off. Honestly, I didn't really care though because he was a huge asshole and was leaving regiment. I was basically a human, mop, Jane Fonda physical training puppet, and human wrecking ball for his entertainment for the better part of 3 months till he left. After that it was just chill. I survived the incident, and finished my time out in Ranger Batt.

Well, a number of years later I put the picture on myspace as a joke and it was grabbed and the story was told. I never claimed valor... I took a picture with a dude's girl portraying myself to be cool like him and he didn't like it.

Once I saw the story I made a public announcement and then was a big headed dumbass kid on the intro approach to introducing myself on AR. Looking back I realize I should of been cooler and much much more mature before speaking my side. Alas, it's the internet and people are entitled to their opinions and share them openly. I am very proud of my service to this country and I am a Ranger.

The other 3si stuff... that's just fun with impulsivity.

You all can cast your judgment. Judgment doesn't really bother me really. What really bothers me is spreading rumors and false stories about my family. More than anything ostracizing my military career. To get to the level I was on you have to give up so much, sacrifice an unexplainable immeasurable, and be an elitest. The best of the best. The screening process and the hazing you go thru to make it and fall in with the brotherhood is beyond belief. I made it, and I served my country with honor.

If you guys think it's funny or whatever, then so be it... but if you disrespected my military service and personal sacrifice to this country to my face you'd likely get your teeth knocked out.

Feel free to carry on. I'm glad I'm in the right state of mind at the moment to make a logical post and am happy about that.

I need less of this internet B.S. and more of my family and legacy. As I have a new one and finally had my ephiphany of what's most important to me... it's certainly not cars or you guys. I don't need those to be happy at all.

    Peace/out
I have never seen so much bullshit in a single post before.

Why was YOUR name on the uniform?

Brace yourselves, more bullshit is incoming.

My brother served two tours in a warzone. I have his gold star on my night stand.

There are lots of explanations, two of which appear in this thread.

    Different day, different story.

As I've said already, I have no rooting interest whatsoever in this individual or his story, but the entertainment value is beyond measure...all in aid of a misguided urge to stay afloat here.

Bravo, Jeremy - you can't swim for shit, but you are one buoyant SOB.

It's unpatriotic to make a fuss about one's own military career, imho. It doesn't provide any justification for one's life. It certainly doesn't speak to your worth as an individual or your personal merits (sadly, a trained monkey could pass the ASVAB). Furthermore it's disrespectful to one's own uniformed service to flaunt one's service. About the ONLY thing that being in the military "might" grant you the luxury of--is an understanding of the inner workings of military tactics, operations and strategy. But that of itself is more of an "I know what I'm talking about on this subject" rather than "You should worship me and be thankful to me because I served in the military". Two completely different mindsets there.

On a side note, it's funny how it's the people who served ~4 years who seem to make the loudest fuss about "I WAS IN THE MILITARY". Most retirees I know only bring it up if you actually ask them about what they used to do.

John F. Kerry was in the military, if I'm not mistaken.

Tend to agree. No more JFast threads. What's done is done. Moving on...
