New parts!!!! After many conversations with Ray, what happened to mine is the result of YEARS of abuse to include a bent connecting rod on #3 a few years back. Plus the fact that it was always on kill (There was knock, I'm not gonna lie. The pistons this go around looked flawless on the face.). The crank had 138000 miles on it. He said they crack. Then they bend. It is common with high HP. Call it the entry fee for big power.

I bought 21psi wg actuator springs to lock me at that boost on pump gas. I plan to only turn the bc on when running race gas. They were installed today!!

I also pulled the timing map back a little and called it my pump gas map. The race gas map is what I used before and it will stay untouched.

At the end of the day, on a regular basis I will excersise more caution and, on occation, I will throw caution to the wind and chase that big number (700).

Edit: I have also put the meth injection system on steroids. Testing netted over a 15% improvement in flow. I still have to test it with it fully installed but, I'm pretty sure the numbers will still be there. More octane and more cooling all the time.

On that note, all holes are full!!! Tomorrow, rear main, oil pump, oil pan, knock sensor, and heads. This may or may not all get done, but it is possible.

Billet crank sounds like the real fix then.

yep...couldn't have said it any better. Its the 'permanant' solution to the crankflex problem. Which is the real reason why I'm trying to shoot for low tq numbers..

    oh and Jeff...you're a kinky mofo...get a room!!

It is kinda sad, you add forged pistons and rods and the crank fails at the same point the stock rods have been pushed to anyway. I guess mitsu built a pretty well designed engine, all the parts fail at the same time if the tune is clean and the engine is fresh. I'm hoping I have a little more strength in the 74 crank, but then again maybe my wrist pins will get beat up.

Sorry if I this is a rookie question but what seems to be the safe limit hp/torque wise for a fresh stock engine?

Pampena says @500hp his motor took years of abuse. Above 500 the wear rate increases..how much more depends on tune, operating conditions, etc..

good to here you got the beast going back together!

and PS., as of today there is a new DR750 record holder (i'm sure there will be a thread soon) so the fight for the most powerful DR750 car is in full swing. (I'll give you hint, it's not quite 700 awhp but very close but the TQ is well over 700 awtq). So Fist to brake 700 awhp is still up for grabs.
