Definitely sounds like inadequate voltage to the starter or a weak bendix. That's how mine sounded after the rebuild, but swapped with a known good one and it was back to full speed. You sure the new starter you put on is good? If so, I agree with checking starter wires (and the connector) for corrosion or breaks.
As far as the sound in the 2nd video, doesn't sound great, although I don't know what it is that could make it just by turning it over by hand..

. I will check the wires for corrosion. Heck, might be burnt up with all the cranking I've been doing. Got to wondering if the noise is the starter gear. It's real hard to tell where it's coming from, nothing else I'll pull the starter and try it again and see.
