must have forgotten the word "necessarily" in there. of course there's negative media for consumption; gore porn is one of them. doesn't mean that ALL images are bad though. and it certainly doesn't waive the parental responsibility. though it is harder to pick good things for children when there's more shite and drivel than anything else.

if i HAD to trace the origins of the problem, it's the baby boomers; the people who did everything in the 60's. life experience taught them that being baked out of your mind 6 ways to sunday and fucking everyone you meet aren't exactly the greatest of ideas. problem is...they decided to cocoon their kids from those experiences. sometimes what it takes is allowing someone to fail. i'd say prior to the baby boomers, sink-or-swim was very much in full effect.
