Yeah...I think they'd look better that way - they need that visual context, and the gauges just have to be in the pod.

Actually, though, unless the new gauges are gonna be there tomorrow, do you have just any old thing to throw in there?

I don't think oem pillars are actual leathee. That is how the get away with it.

Also there are much thinner leathers out there that would clean things up as well.

Talk with a western leather tool man. I am sure that can be done with no seems, but may involve tools you do not have.

If the stitching was straight it would look good. It's not straight and it would bug the hell out of me.

If the stitching was symmetrical, I would be happy, the two areas that are really off in symmetry are the faces of the pod where the gauges will mount. With the gauges installed you will not see it.

I could deal with the stitching but those bands they wrapped throw it way off. The stitching on the pods themselves wouldn't be to noticeable with the gauges installed. The one without the pods looks good with just the tweeter mount. I also hate gauge pods and got rid of mine a couple years ago. Your right though, there is not going to be a way to wrap that without stitching it but whomever did this job did not take the right approach. You should be able to wrap the whole thing and only need to stitch the circular part account the opening of the gauges themselves. I think it was DuTTch that had a new pod built that sits on top of the stock 3 gauges. Stitching looked great on that thing. Everything needs to be double stitched when it comes to leather.
