All the race belts made in japan are painted. I wish they would make them with the blue rubber like we do in the states.

Yes, he has a new belt and solid tensioner someone gave him. Should be on the road very soon!

Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!

I'll try to see if he can finish this up with his observations. He sent the belt back months ago and the engine used for his experiment is now in my car.

Life just happens hence he's never on the forum. Sure some of us can relate.

In truth, unless you are planning to regularly exceed the stock redline or leave the vehicle sitting for long periods of time, a solid tensioner isn't really necessary. Additionally, the additional strength of the Gates belt is in the teeth, so unless you are shearing teeth off your timing belt, its overkill.

In either case, check with Ninja Performance for either the solid tensioner kit, or an OEM set up.

If your tensioner collapsed and belt is old, the rest of your timing components are likely old as well as need replacing.

yeah im just a new owner that needs to do a 60k service to it, so im trying to chose which timing belt kit to go with, just ordered up the lcdbc an getting a wb, an thought that the gates racing belt an solid tensioner was the way to go, just wasn't sure if I should go 3sx kit or ninja performance kit,
