Where'd you get your carpet from?

Good tip on the foam for the floorboards. I've never had the carpet up from mine, didn't realize that was there, but I've used foam before and the results are usually impressive from the little bit of time and money.

Also your doors could definitely use some love with CLD tiles. You can also use foam behind the crash bar, but in the past I've used an extruded rubber stuck between the outer skin and the crash bar. It mates the two surfaces together and gets rid of a good amount of resonance. I've done it on my VR4 and several other vehicles with great results, and even better with a few CLD's above and below. All these things are really just helping control resonance, but that is a definite issue with our cars, and it gets rid of the "tin can" effect" for sure.

Also FWIW, I usually buy stuff from http://sounddeadenershowdown.com/

    Anyway, nice job!

I've seen the sounddeadener showdown before. Some decent info on there where I got some ideas from. The sound deadening was a spur of the moment thing. "Well, carpet is out, maybe I should go ahead and do this too". Didn't have time to order anything, so I used what I had and could buy local.

Here's where I got my carpet from.

It looks a little more formed in the picture. But if you compare an oem carpet to this, there's a night and day difference. I know you can contour it a little more with a steamer, which I didn't do yet. Also, the corners want to bunch up a little. For the most part it fits pretty well. But have to be very cautious on the trimming. It looks like you have to trim a lot, but you don't.

But anyway, once installed, it looks really nice. Soooo much cleaner than the 20 year old crap I had in there.

Yeah I think is the same as I got, and +1 on trimming. The heal pad is back a bit too far on mine as well.

Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!
