Hoping for some follow-up on this.
Ranked No. #1 in initial quality

Idiots, simply by being idiots, seem capable of achieving randomly bad things that are beyond the imaginings of sensible people.

I'm guessing it went down like this.... Highway patrol wanted more lanes open, the truck was probably blocking more lanes than the cop felt they needed to. Cop told firefighter to move the truck to allow more cars through, firefighter said no. Firefighter arrested. Technically the police officer is in charge of a scene when its on the roadway.

    Now to watch the video.

Edit: Yep, CHP wanted him to move the truck, which technically the CHP has a right to do (since it's their scene), Firefighter refused (which he was right for refusing), idiotic arrest occurs.

I've seen some debate on this on other sites... I'd be very interested to hear the Cali law on the subject. Seems many states give control of the scene to fire/EMS until fires are out and victims are cleared. If Cali law is that way, that cop is in deep shit...

In NJ, when ever anything is on a road, the police have control of the scene. Police never really flex that authority, because they have common sense that Fire/EMS are the ones working the scene.
