I missed it. Thanks for the link.
Ham did not present much of an argument before "It's in the book" came out. His 6000 year sticking point hurt his position.
Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!

I enjoy a good scientific debate, but unfortunately Ham did not really bring that to the table. He stuck with a couple main ideas as his main argument. His whole idea of historical observation if true, would in fact discredit everything he talked about as nobody today was living to prove anything he said....
I actually tried to read some of Ham's other stuff online and well needless to say the thought of "WTF" came up a lot during those reading.
It pretty much came down to this.
Bill Nye: Mr. Ham, what proof do you have that your theory is correct?
Ken Ham: Well, I have none because I wasn't alive 6,000 years ago, but it's in the Bible.
So, the debate did get a little old.
I thought his point on historical science, and education being sudo religion was an interesting angle. There are slivers of ground to stand on there. Nye did cut him up for the most part.
In the opening statements I thought it was going to be good back n forth debate, but Ham fell into the fanatic realm, and soon after crushed credibility for me. Remembering the debate was on whether his theory? was plausible, he only had 3 points to rest on that were for the most part week.
I was looking forward to the debate as soon as I had heard about it. I grew up in a Christian home and had heard of a lot Ken Ham's work. I also watched Bill Nye's show on the regular.
I was hoping it would be an actual scientific debate, each side presenting (provable and scientific) arguments that support their theory's. Instead, you had Bill giving examples such as fossils in rock layers, layers of ice in ice cores, or my favorite is the number of new "kinds" of species that would have to be found daily to support Ken's belief. To which Ken's rebuttal (SPOILER ALERT); "I know of a book that tells me so".
My favorite part of the whole thing was Bill's facial expression while watching Ken talk.
