    Gasket ?'s

First off, I gotta say, this is my first post here, and I'm diggin the layout and overall everything much better than what the old site has become!...anyway...

I've got a super small oil leak on the oil filter housing on my SOHC and the gasket is 10 bucks for shipping, which is rediculious to me on a $3 gasket that'd fit in an envelope...

My questions/options I was debating, using gasket material and cutting out my own, or using The Right Stuff or similar, I know the trans/xfer cases are put together this way and I'm wondering if that would be safe for other gasket replacements.

I work at a Baxter auto parts so I get a discount on things like that and I tried searching for the gasket in need but to no avail...

    Suggestions?

If the shipping is 10 dollars, try giving them a call and see if they can do a more accurate shipping, It might be a flat rate they do across their website. I do this with 3sx.

Just the two bolt oil filter neck ? Cutting your own gasket for that would be fine.

Generally I would advocate liquid gaskets, but not here. Here there is a higher probability that excess gasket material makes it's way into the post-filter oil passages. Agree with the cut gasket being a viable option.
