WPC- Has anyone used any treated parts in their builds?

Just curious if anyone has used WPC treated parts in their engines yet? I had my set of STD Clevite bearings treated for when I build my bottom end here in a few weeks (any pointers on assembling the bottom end btw? 2 bolt/ forged crank). If anyone has used some WPC stuff chime in here and tell me how you think/ feel it is working out for you.

Yep. Oil pump, crank, bearings, rings, wrist pins. Best $150 you can spend on an engine... (That's all it costs). I recc to all the guys in Co3s. Here's the most recent engine build in the chapter.

Yeah it was like 100 for the bearings shipped. I wonder how it will improve the bearing life and deter spinning bearings. Those test videos they have are crazy. Seems this cuts way down on friction.

armored1 has it done to his turbos, once I get a spool log for my 19T's, i'm sending them to him to have treated to get a comparison of spool characteristics. he believes it will show gains comprable to a ball bearing turbo "200-300rpm quicker spool"

In very basic terms it is like a micro shot peening where shot are fired at the surface of the item being treated. This elevates the surface hardness to a few microns depth. Shot peening is with larger shot and hence has a deeper effect but does not reach the same surface hardness. You could say the pair compliment each other.

Not only does it end up harder but the surface is also smoother and friction is drastically reduced.

WPC is way more superior to polishing. WPC treated parts have microscopic texture on them that helps oil stays on the surface better. Here is a video of polish part vs WPC treated one.

You guys probably don't know it, but NSX breaks transmission gears after 650+ whp, but there is a 800hp time attack NSX that has a very reliable gears because they are wpc treated.

Im pretty aware of the results actually, its really great stuff, cheap and Izumi is a very nice guy.

The performance on these turbos dry is just unreal for a journel bearing so far.

Ill post some logs after I get a replacement axle seal from Ninja.

All i have now is a vid of them spinning dry
