    Car painting questions!!

So I am finally going to get my car painted!! And maybe even get my front bumper on... maybe. I have a couple simple questions though.

    1. What should I take off the car? The list I have in my head now is:
    - door handles
    - spoiler
    - the things on the lower half of the doors (idk how to get those off??)
    - the foot guards on the inside bottom of the door
    - ???

I'm sure there are more things to take off. I have never gotten a car resprayed and I am not going with a factory color so I want to be sure I do this right. I will be side by side with the painter the whole time.

    2. I will be getting a pearl white of some kind. What color should I go with in my engine bay? Would black look good??

Help is appreciated please and thank you!

Paint the engine bay the same color. White looks great in an engine bay.

    Check it out on Youtube!!

I had my engine bay painted the same as the body Glacia Pearl White and it looks outstanding. soo much better than the 1 stage white it originally had which looked like a pale white. Hard part was removing everything from the engine bay but well worth it. I was however able to leave all the ABS lines and they pulled it away enough to be able to do the job. Can't describe how much better it looks.

    Only pic I have...

i did my bay in satin black. 2 reasons. 1st, it hides dirt better than gloss or lighter colors. 2nd, whatever you put in the bay, will stand out much better.

you want to remove all the gaskets. paint not just the door jams, but the hatch jams as well.

I would love the way that would look on my car as well, but it would be really hard to fix scratches. If you are inept as I and tend to work under the hood a lot the stock non pearl white is really easy to touch up. I found a random can of duplicolor white that blends right in.

Here are some pics from when my car was painted. Give you an idea of what all was removed.

I also had them do a lot of body work while they were at it. But basically everything was removed.
