    With a 360/TQ and a 4-spd, they'd maybe break 17 in the 1/4...
Ranked No. #1 in initial quality

Idiots, simply by being idiots, seem capable of achieving randomly bad things that are beyond the imaginings of sensible people.

Now we are getting somewhere people.

Please explain "pedantic" in your reference to Nickelbach. I don't really get that.

How so? Not talented at music? Obviously you are wrong because they can play music, just not your taste, right?

Jeff - I'm still waiting on your thoughts on the JFK thread. No hurry.

Dammit, I can't even access the JFK thread. Regardless of conspiracy or not, it was 1 gunman. Ballistics prove it.

As to "nickelbach" (sic) it is the lyrics that strike me as pedantic. Maroon 5 has more inspired lyrics, ffs. Now normally that's not an automatic strike against a band. Journey, for example, has rather elementary lyrics--yet they don't warrant the same dislike...largely because Steve Perry is the 2nd greatest singer of all time (just barely 2nd to Freddie Mercury). So it's more like a combination of things that makes Nickleback "awful" to me. Kroger doesn't have the inflection, variations and tonality (or raw power) to make him truly remarkable. When you couple these factors with the blase music, you get a product that is tepidly mediocre.

My favorite music often has people running to Miriam-Webster to decipher some of the more infrequently used words in the English language. My least favorite music usually has people running to urban-dictionary to decipher a "newly invented" turn of phrase which is most likely superfluous to the existing lexicon, but instead "fits" the rhyme scheme of the untalented and largely illiterate "artist" who wrote the song.

Maybe I can start a JFK thread here as it's something that really interests me.

As for music, I think you expect waaaaaayyyyyy much more than I do. I listen, if the sound appeals to me, I'll like it. I'm not ALL about the lyrics, altho they are important.

Eg - my fave band is Muse. Lyrically I think they are very good, however, they can dumb it down when they need to. The Olympics theme song they did Survival is simplistic in every way. It's all about winning for athlete's, yet a lot of their tracks are politically motivated or life motivated.

JFK thread, great. just don't put in politics because I can't access that section. Alan hates me.

As to the rest, I agree. I want a tune to be catchy more than anything. But that is probably why I can tolerate "Call Me Maybe" and not "How You Remind Me".
