Thread: Omaha, NE; For a visitor what are the things you simply have to do there???

    Late to the party, but you could check out the Gene Leahy Pedestrian mall & Heartland of America park, those are both close by. Also the Bob Kerry pedestrian bridge that goes over the river to Iowa, kinda neat & you can see the fountain from the park from there. There are some casinos across the river in Council Bluffs. And if you feel like going a bit farther out, Lewis & Clark landing in Council Bluffs has a nice view over Omaha and our miniscule airport.

    There's also a really nice italian place around the 30th & Martha St area, kinda nestled into an nice, older neighborhood, called Lo Sole Mio. Great food, probably the best italian in Omaha, near the Gerald Ford birthplace.

    Or for tacos, there's California Tacos n more near 33rd & California st. Never been, but heard they're amazing, featured on the food channel i believe.
