    lol.... You'll keep Indian.

Pontings no longer captain. Now we can rebuild. As for your lot, most of your players are over 60 aren't they? (Sehwag, Tendulkar, Singh) When they go, India will be part of the cricket minows crowd.

If you really want one then you could make your own similar one. If you buy one of the ebay chips that converts the speedo to MPH then use the speedhut site to make/design your own dial you could get something similar. I spoke to them about a group buy for this but the price they wanted with logo etc was too much. Lockwood ended up being cheaper. A basic dial from Speedhut is reasonable though.

Mitsubishi Gauge Glow Dials and Custom Gauges by SpeedHut

    MITSUBISHI EVO/GTO/FTO SPEEDO CONVERTER/DELIMITER CHIP | eBay

When I spoke to them they did confirm that they could make the dial to only have the KPH instead of MPH so maybe email them and see what you they can do for you. Also the speedhut dials are glow dials while the lockwood ones I ordered are a replacement to the factory dial. They use the origional illumination etc.

Not sure how many of you guys have installed your kit yet, but one of the NZ guys noticed that his cruise control and AA function at a different speed now due to the converter chip. Before all of this started I looked at modifying the speedo PCB so I could convert it to MPH or ideally convert it to a true 280km/h unit. As I was unable to obtain pictures of all the required information it cam to a halt. It was determined that the board part numbers are all identical and the conficuration of the components and jumper pins where all that was different between them.
Some of the NZ and UK guys also were working on that but no-one had a confirmed result until now.

So if anyone wants to install this kit without having to install the converter chip [would only effect those wit hAA and/or cruise control] then the follwong process can be doen and has been confirmed working by marty.k on GTOOC in the below thread.

Never really been happy with the conversion done using the external chip, so wanted to see what was possible.

The Speedo Printed Circuit Board used for MPH and KPH is the same part number.

So, after a little checking I found a few pics of the PCB's in their different configurations.

I have modified mine to be MPH.

A few snips, and a little soldering and it will be done.

No able to test it for quite a while, but will update with results when I do.

Straightforward to do, no real issues.

I had to solder a jumper wire across where it's not on the KPH, I snipped off the bits that are not used, and changed the jumpers around to match the MPH.

I have now removed my original converter chip, and re-installed the instrument cluster.

Need to test it now, see if it works!

So......this is definately and alternative to using an aftermarket conversion chip to do KPH to MPH

I will be calibrating it another time(soon), and will then look to see about the top speed limit.

Or is there something else I'm missing?

    I didn't de-solder.....snips work just fine
There is another one to remove about 1/2 way up near the right, and a wire to solder in along the bottom.
Then you need to make the solder blobs look like the MPH one.
Remove as required. Solder new ones as required.
(What I will do is edit the pics to show exactly what is required to make this work.)

I have done a proper test of this today, using the sat-nav to compare, and it works great!
Speedo in MPH, pretty accurate as well. ODO in MPH also.
Don't know yet about the limiter, but in theory it should now be 180mph, instead of 180kph

So, no need for 'conversion' chips on the GTO at all.
A bit of soldering, and a few snips, and it's in MPH.

You need to remove the components marked in RED
(I justed snipped them off, but you may want to de-solder them)

Solder in a jumper wire into the position marked in BLUE
(I used a short piece of copper wire from a normal electrical cable earth)

Match the MPH solder blobs to the MPH picture in the area marked in GREEN
(There is a laquer on the board, so you may need to remove this prior to soldering the new points(I just scraped it off with a sharp knife))

Be sure to earth yourself prior to doing anything to do with electronics.
(not for your safety, but to prevent static damaging them)

You can see it in this pic also.

Zoomed up closer.....once again, not the best!

This works everyone! There is NO need to purchase a converter chip of any type at all!
Mine has been like this for a while now.
Sat nav comfirms it's much more accurate also.

Hope that helps...... the only thing unconfirmed at this point is the limiter. We know for a fact using the converter chip removes the 180km/h limit [don't ask me how I know ] but at this point this new method is untested above 180km/h.

When I work out the correct configuration for a true 280km/h unit with the odo working in kms instead of miles I will post that.

All credit for this one goes to Marty though.

Cutting pin 66 [I think] on the ecu will also remove the limit so if this doesn't remove it cutting the wrie will I have a huge stack of parts to fit and this is at the very bottom..... plus I have a 10 week only son who takes up most of my time.

Need to fit the following parts
    Aeromotive stealth 340lph pump
    pump hotwire
    FPR
    fuel loop
    fuel lines
    725cc injectors
    HKS Twin Power DLI
    3 gauges
    boost controller
    ARC SMIC kit

    then buy an exhaust

then sort out this speedo thing

yes but what else does cutting pin 66 do? does it stop the ECU being able to see your speed at all? so AWS disabled? what?
