The rear quarter window position switches are different. The 95's use the magnetic switches to know if the rear quarter windows are open or closed. The 96's use the roller switches (like used on the rear trunk and header system) to do that.

In ten years I never even knew what it looked like behind the headliner and in 1 1/2 years Hans had it ALL apart.

Interesting. You must be the resident expert on top differences. Any others between 95 and 96?

I had it all apart within 5 minutes of owning the car haha.

I know a lot of the plugs for the body were different that sit behind the driver side rear quarter interior panel.

The switches for the tonnau latches (to know if its open or closed) are different as well. I think I photographed the differences at one point in time. I just don't know what I did with them

Hans, I have my 95 stripped down for respray and I took a pic of the Q window mechanism. I *think* this is the setup you claim was exclusive to the 96 as I have two microswitches stacked on top of each other. Please confirm.

I have found that they are a late 95 build as well. Did your's leave ASC around October 94 or later?

Mine is August 94. It is one of the earliest cars built according to Frank's Mitsubishi 3000GT Spyder Registry I suspect that my car was upgraded at some point. I found a TSB SC-96-002 titled Retractable Service Upgrade issued in May 96 - maybe that was it.

could have been an upgrade. The 2 that I have replaced harnesses on lately both had build dates of October 94 (date left ASC, not mitsu build date) and get had the newer sensor setup.
