So, I'm working on my 99 conversion and I'm trying to get everything to fit right / line up. I have a 92 stealth rt turbo, with a 2nd gen headlight bucket and rad support, dual core IC from oohnoo (Bob) and a stock 99 front bumper. I'm trying to use the stock 99 bracket (part number MR447764) and stock 99 splash shields, which is what is pictured here... I have a few questions... What are the little clips for (circle in red)? What are the extra set of holes for (circled in blue)? This set of hole isn't the ones that the bumper get bolted onto the bracket with, those holes are on the bottom of the bracket, these holes I am asking about are on the top of the bracket. My next question is, can I use this stock bracket and stock splash shield with the dual core intercooler? The bracket and splash shields are hitting the intercooler on the bottom, and they are about a 1/2" off of the bottom of the sub-frame due to the intercooler bracket/bolts (and I assume they is suppose to sit flush with the bottom of the front frame). Has anyone made this work before with the stock bracket and splash shields so that everything fit correctly? If not what can I do, make some sort of custom bracket? Another picture for a reference...

I didn't take anything from your gallery and upload it to my Photobucket. I found them posted in another thread, referenced by someone else, and I'm simply using them to show which parts I'm talking about. I put them on Photobucket to create the link.
C'mon gonzo. He says for reference above.
Thanks. Sorry I'm not trying to be an ass, I just have to watch out for my stuff. Here is the albums with all of the photos of the build in it. Us what you like from it. Yoshi's Build - 3S Image Gallery Click on an image and above it in the next screen will be three buttons. Click the middle one for "Display Info". This will open up the file details and linking URL.
I'm all but certain that his use of your precious pictures is considered fair-use because of it's "Nonprofit, educational, scholarly or research use" nature.
In for info about those clips...
So I've been chatting with some people, and I think the upper row of holes is used to attach the stock plastic ducting with those plastic push pin type screws. Those tabs on the bracket, circled in red, are also used to align/secure the stock plastic duct. I’ve looked through caps, and I didn’t find the stock plastic duct, I would imagine it’d be with the front bumper section, which looks like this… http://img.laximo.net/MMCM00290/sour...8327b4110ff59a Can anyone confirm/deny this with a stock 99? If this is true… what holds the big metal bracket up? It is pretty heavy. It gets attached to the underbody splash shields, which in turn are attached to the undercarriage, and it gets attached to the front bumper (both of which are plastic). It never gets attached to the frame anywhere. Will this be too heavy and cause the bumper to sag where the bracket is resting on? P.S. I tried linking to your pictures DrGonzo, and when I click on any picture it prompts me for a username/password.
Bump, somebody throw me a bone please
Still hoping someone can post up some pictures of the underside, ducting, and brackets that a stock 99 has. I'm pretty particular when it comes to my car, so I want to do this the right way. I've got another question related to the first. To the left and right of the big main bracket on the front bottom of the bumper of 3000gts/stealths, from 1991-1998, there were two side brackets. It attached the stock under trays (splash shields) to the bumper. I am referring to 62043L and 62043R in this picture from CAPS When I look in caps there is nothing like these for the 99... see below the 99... So my question is how is it from the factory? There are holes in the bumper and in the splash shield, did the factory use nuts and bolts? Or did it come with little clips from the factory? In the second picture Part 62022B looks like little clips which may be what I am missing. I can't tell from caps where those are suppose to go. Thanks for any help!
