no doubt in my mind that billets spool faster; but it's more a question of top end. 750s clearly > 19t's in all aspects. however, i'm not certain that 650's have all the grunt that can be eeked from 19t's. regardless though, if you like spooly, and are willing to give up a little grunt--i'm sure 650 billets are the way to go (especially since, as he pointed out, they are a grand cheaper).
p.s.
i would like to see dyno sheets for billet 19t's though...

Haven't heard of 19t billets ... yet. Also curious to see dyno info on split 2nds billet triple ceramic T3s.
wow! those numbers ray posted for spool sound a lot like stroker mhi 16g numbers. i missed that thread, so i'm very surprised. ukyo is right, it's a VERY hard sell to plunk an extra $1500 for 750's--when these are so capable.
i'll be using chinabay 16g's for my build; but damn...it's good to know that billet is such a substantial upgrade. if i get billet 16g's someday, i'll probably shart myself. i'll bet that it's possible to get 700-800whp with billet 16g's on a stroker-ON PUMP GAS!

It's not so much that the wheel is made from a billet, it's what it's made of and the fact that it's a better design than a normal cast wheel. Billet wheels are generally low production wheels (would be too much cost to set up for casting) with small changes to better optimize them with a specific setup. Whatevs.

true dat. still, billet wheels make my dick hard.
Very much interested in the DR 650 billets, and DR had a sale that ended in February that was sweet; but ended up getting a family gym membership and sending kids to a flippin expensive preschool/kindergarten; eh the wife convinced me its worth it and when she graduates and gets a real job, I can focus more on the 650s and supporting mods.
March 11th... almost a month later and not a word from the guy.
Oh well...
I put a new battery in the VR-4 in the meantime. Picked up the uber cheap ValueCraft battery from AutoZone. It's only 28 lbs. and has the needed CCA to crank the car in winter. I'm saving a little over 10 lbs, so I can't argue. It did need an adapter to use the factory tie down, but hey... I saved over 10 lbs., so I can't and won't complain. Now to see how long it will last.
I'm starting to think it's time to list the VR-4 for sale as well. Which ever sells first, we keep the other. Makes sense to me. Or... we sell both and get a M3. Decisions, decisions. Why couldn't the guy just buy the Supra????

07/19/2011 - The saga is over. We had a guy drive down from just North of Detroit yesterday. He test drove the Supra, liked it, we haggled, came down a little on the price, and today he's driving it home. He had to call a shipping company to take his truck back. I thought it was odd he would drive to Atlanta alone to buy another car, but whatever... he had the money to throw around.
In the mean time we have put our house on the market (and we are expecting an offer any minute now) so there will be no backyard paradise. There will, however, be a much nicer house on the North side of the city. Funny the way this thread played out in reality versus plan.
So, that wraps it up for this saga. Now I have to decide if I want a TDI or not. 30 - 50 MPG (depending on who you ask) is very tempting...

two thoughts:
1st, congratulations on keeping the 3/s.
2nd, proof once again that supra's are way overvalued; i can't imagine anyone doing that silly "drive down, ship my vehicle back" BS for something this side of a 6-figure car.
