Quick update if anyone cares...
Thanks to the battery dying in my VR-4, I drove the Supra to work yesterday (after pumping up the tire because it too had been sitting a while). On the way home a guy followed me. I'm thinking uh oh, it's a creeper...
Anyway, he rings the door bell and starts off with "I know this is going to sound odd, but who owns that Supra?" I told him it actually belongs to my wife. He then said, "This is going to sound strange but..." Before he could finish I told him it is for sale. At that point I pulled it out of the garage for him to look at, we went for a test drive, and he's probably going to be bringing us a deposit on it early next week. Looks like the dilemma of which car to sell was solved by a dead battery. It's not going to be the same in the garage without the Supra, but it's better in the hands of someone that is going to drive it than letting it sit in our garage.
I guess now I can start planning my final VR-4 build. I'm thinking billet DR-650s, new VSS, new timing components (why not?), and hopefully a modded '99 Montero ECU flashed with the '99 VR-4 code so I can use my EVO 560cc injectors properly that are sitting on the shelf. That's assuming, of course, that product is ever released for sale. If not, maybe an ARC 2 and some RC 550s. We'll see.
Of course... we could never hear from the guy again, and thus the dilemma will rear it's ugly head again.
