depends on which SL AMG we're talking about. SLK's only have 1 variant. At the end of the day though, I'd rather have an SLK AMG than a garden-variety SL.

    p.s.
a lot of the benz lovers really like the r171 front over the r172, but they prefer the r172 tail over the r171. and the r170 actually looks good with blacked-out badging & blacked out wheels/tails/headlights. i think that same treatment would fix a lot of my gripe with the r172 looks.

    p.p.s.
if i'm reading my numbers right, the 493 ponies (v12 turbo) is the r230 SL600. the SL 55 AMG had 469 (supercharged 8). the SL 65 AMG is 604hp (v12 turbo).

    I'm eyeballing a 09 C6.

Replace is a strong word - I'll always have one at least.

FD and no regrets. Its no power house but is an absolute ball to drive, was mostly stock at NG, looking forward to running it with ~300rwhp this summer. Weighs 2780 so basically same power/weight as a low 400awhp VR4 and since im still sequential on the twins, no really down any torque. Will make ~400rwhp whenever the stock motor pops and it gets a street port with bigger twins.

I'd love a 3/S to compliment the FD though, need gen2 stealth with stock 5 spokes and 96 wing then I'll have the only 3/S I've never had but still would want.

I wouldn't get rid of mine. The suspension changes that was done for NG this year made that car about the best it can be with out jumping into Ohlins.
