Vr4 ABS in the snow

It snowed here recently and my 99 Vr4 drove fine, but when it came to braking it seemed like the ABS would pulse even at slow speeds. I remember reading somewhere suggesting removing the ABS relay to counter act this issue and have more control on icy/snowy roads. Thoughts? Experiences?

Pull the fuse and give it a try. If you don't like it just pop the fuse back in.

ABS is not your friend in snow. Also, tires are the single best thing you can do to improve your car in any circumstances.

I am driving my green car through the winter for the 2nd time. It didn't take me long deciding I needed to pull the fuse I'm running new sumitomo HTR+ all seasons and it does pretty decent in the snow. I work from home so it's not like I'm on the road a lot.

Thanks for the input guys! Sounds like I'll be pulling the fuse and seeing how it drives the next time. I'm running 275/30/19 Kumho Ecsta SPT tires and the reviews seem to be good considering wet/snow conditions. I'll probably upgrade to a 35 profile soon considering how bad these PA roads are.

Way too wide for snow use. I ran 225's way back in the day on SL wheels.

Yeah I absolutely despise ABS, especially in the snow/ice. It has caused me more issues than I can count with the Grand Prix.

No other options for me at this point. No spare set of rims or a garage to store them in.

Just be careful with those wide tires, especially if your not used to driving a car without ABS.

You can't throw an extra set of rims in your basement or a storage locker? Just would hate to see you wreck a 99 VR4!
