looking for pictures of sandblasted (non polished) plenums. i'm wondering if the casting roughness will come out without the time/cost of fine grit sanding and polishing.

Sandblasting does make it smoother but it still leaves a fair amount of texture.

With an 80 grit blast, yes. ...but you then have an 80 grit surface to smoothen out.
Don't have any pics of the plenum I did... The owner loved the color and texture of the freshly blasted piece so I just installed it on his car as it was.
I think I have a spare NA plenium and lower plenum I can blast and take pics of if you'd like to see it. Remember though, the NA parts are painted so they're going to require a bit more blasting but the surface will appear the same when I'm finished.

"I don't actually work on cars, I just talk about them on the internet."
My previous job I did a bunch of sandblasting. Aluminum oxide, steel shot and glass bead. Are you hoping to save some work by blasting it first then sanding/polishing it? I would think you would save some time if you knew somebody that had the stuff but I wouldn’t run out and buy it.
Glass beads are what I typically clean them with...I have some picks but it doesn't really smooth anything out, just looks cleaner.
just wanted to say kick ass avatar maximal, vintage sabers FTW
