Thank you for posting, I was looking to do that same thing to my OEM hood, since it already has the angry mod. Looking forward to your review on the product and progress. If it looks anything like the pitroad M version you posted, I am game.

The CF hood I have on my car is all gutted courtesy of one of the previous owners so I'd like to find some good vents to install. It can't be trashed any further.

If that vent isn't curved you may have cracking problems if you try to blend it in. Just riveting may be better option in that case.
I love your GT500 vent, however I would be worried with the temperature changes and different materials that it would be prone to cracking. Looked into just getting a metal one and having it welded in, but that's around 300-400 before cost of welding. Anyone consider something like a GT40 or Lotus Elise kind of styled hood vent? Mind you, can't get THAT deep with the engine up there, but a scoop like that with the air pressure might help suck air through a FMIC and radiator if it's ducted properly. Have to imagine that the exhaust gets in the way, been a long time since I've had mine together so I forget how much room there is to play there. Alternatively, the scoop on the passenger side over the air intake may not be bad, not sure how much (if any) power it would add.

Definitely more concerned with cooling performance than with HP though.

No biggy. I can just message PRM Machine Factory on Facebook since we are friends. You know his birthday was this week. I was the only US 3/S guy to say happy birthday...
I had my eye on these and pulled them up from my watched items ended list on E-bay.

This one is a JDM DMAX style #1

I've almost clicked buy 3 times but just can't get myself to do it because it's fiberglass. I didn't want to have to deal with painting it so if figured for the $75 more the CF one was totally worth it.

The second style I was following was another DMAX style, but a Version #2.

I like both of them, the DMAX version #1 is my favorite of all however I'm just not into painting and blending. It's a looks time waster vs quick fit, finish, form and function.

You do know that CF is meant to be painted, right? UV light breaks down the resin. That hazy, flaky stuff you see on composite parts; that's the resin. When that happens the part is compromised and worthless.

Epoxy resin is 100% UV resistant. If you read my mounting post I mentioned I used structural epoxy resin to adhere and epoxy resin to add
more carbon. Urethanes yellow, epoxy resin does not.

If you want to make a carbon fiber parts strong and functional use epoxy. I use System Three. I've structurally improved every carbon fiber panel an exterior part that I purchased by adding structural plates with structural epoxy and refinished them with epoxy resin.

I'm getting pretty good with carbon fiber. Once I discovered how easy it was to add carbon fiber to something by just presanding, tack gauging, and brushing on epoxy resin I started going crazy ha.

A few of the guys on Facebook in the 3sgto group gave me DIY pointers on building and working on my own composite parts. When I tried it for myself I figured it out real quick and that was the end for me. I can pretty much make whatever. If I get stuck, I have a couple really good resources to call upon to help me out if need be.

it's not the Dmax vent that's on the PRM car. the dmax and the copies all have sharp edges on the corners unlike the PRM vent which is actually round.

It's a design by URAS and it's their type 2 vent.

    better pic:
