    Morning from hell.

Started yesterday afternoon when I got home from work. Just like any other day, I let my Jack Russell, Lancer, out in the yard to go to the bathroom when my phone rang inside. I walked in to grab my phone (as I was waiting on word about my dad being hospitalized with pneumonia after surgery) and I head a whole bunch of snarling and barking. I ran outside to see a husky on my property attacking my dog.
As I make it to the bottom of my steps, Lancer had managed to get away from the dog and was hiding behind a bush. His left shoulder had a huge gash where you could see the connecting muscle clear as day. He was soaking wet from getting tossed into the standing water in my front lawn from the rain and I picked him up and rinsed him down with the running water and wrapped him in a towel and took him to the animal hospital.
He will be there for a few days according to the vet. The owner of the husky is a very nice lady who is a neighbor of mine and was extremely uspet by the whole ordeal, as am I. She said she will take care of all of the bills and wants to do anything she can do to help. It's a bad situation to be in.
This morning, I had a random instant message from a girl I haven't talked to in a long time who informed me that a friend of mine from college commited suicide a couple of months ago. It was weird timing as I was thinking about him last week and how I hadn't heard from him in a long time. He was an awesome guy, such a waste for him to remove himself from this world over a girl.

Yea, just keep your head up man, things will turn around. As for the husky, Ive owned plenty and have never personally seen them attacking ANYTHING, dog or human. All they want to do is play. I wonder what set him off.

Awww, poor doggah. I'll send positive thoughts your way. Sorry about your friend. It is incredibly hard, regardless of the time that past since you saw them last.

That is a little uncommon for huskies. I know my old husky would run from the neighbor's jack russel, but yet chase a 10pt buck.

Jack russel are hardy little dogs, so I am sure he will recover quickly. Thankfully the huskie's owner is taking responsibility for the dog, but she should know better than to let him/her run loose.

Just think how bowed up your dog is. He's thinkin " I just got away from an encounter with a damn husky!. I'm the shitz !!" He may be banged up, tore up and hurtin ..but he's managed to get out of it.
Best of luck, a quick recovery and good health to your Dad.

Did you file a police report about the dog? Did you get her to write this on paper?

People have a funny way of turning on you when it is time to pay up. I'm glad you got to your dog in time before he was hurt worse or killed.
