Billet crank would be a good idea if you end up with the same issue. BC billet would use the rods you just bought and then you would need stroker pistons with the correct pin height.

Hey Eric...kinda OT but how did you bearings look after last seasons romping? Got pics? Maybe we should start a timing map/bearing pics thread...

On a more serious note, the reason I'm asking is because you were making north of 500+whp...and you got a chance to tear up your motor afterwards..might be a good opportunity for us to take a peek at things...your timing was in the upper teens, correct? How old was your crank? Mileage, etc...

    DR750's V1 guess the dyno

No wear, at all on mains or rod bearings. Didn't even take pics because they looked just like how I put them in. (Edit: crank checked straight by machine shop also.) Big difference in setups though. I was running about 10* less timing everywhere, 10psi less boost, and 100-150 less tq. My timing was only 10* at peak tq up to 16*ish up top. Also no boost spike. I induced a creeping boost curve to keep from a tq spike. Ran 500awtq most of the time but touched 540 a couple times until I worked out my WG duty cycle map. Very little miles on the 500awtq tune as some time was spent at wastegate boost.

My tune wasn't pushed anywhere near Jeff's. That might not be the case this year with the forged rods. Especially if the misfire issue is solved with the ignition and ground changes I am making.

All my tears are dried up and it's time to get it back together. Mitsu called today and said all my parts are in and ready to ship. Just waiting on the turbos and the Pampena stuff. No word from Matt yet but, I expect a call next week sometime. The last time he had them it took something like 3 weeks so I'm not in a terrible rush. At least not until I get the engine put back together.

Both good ideas but, There shouldn't be any significant post turbine backpressure. It's all wadded up pre-turbine. I may have a fix in the works for that though.

The billet crank was thought about until I saw the price tag which took nearly 1 millisecond to change my mind. The whole engine will be reassembled cheaper thaan just that one part. Couldn't justify it to my wife or even to myself.

This excites me. I also need to add that Ray mentioned magnafluxing the crank to check for cracks. He said the crank cracks and the bend is the result. Good luck to you sir!!!

    Update time.

All future info for the rebuild will happen here as this car is no longer running DR750's V1.
