If you were reading what he said he applauds stock boost control because it's baro compensated. He also reveres Chrome V.2 for speed density so there is only one option for him. (2) MAP sensors.

With the addition of an HKS electronic boost control, congratulations in making a Chrome ECU setup more expensive than an AEM with internal boost control and two MAP sensors. It sort of detracts from one of the acclaims of ECUFlash, cost.

Nothing new... It's already been resolved on EvoM and added to ECUFlash/ECU Link Wiki. It also has an auto tune function and simultaneous MAF reference to MAP for speed density airflow calculating. If you want as good as it gets a real 3-D soultion Here's what it looks like in ECU Flash .

Yeah but there are issues with it. Mainly low rpm & minor throttle changes. Pretty sure I know why this happens (has to do with what we are talking about in that there's a difference between absolute and relative pressure sensors). That's why I was looking into designing a SD setup that only used a Baro sensor like the Padjero EVO and Mirage back in the late 90s.

What is the draw for SD? Most things I have read point to it being a bitch to tune, and cranky with weather?

There are the stories of "I have, so it is the greatest". So unsure where to store my opinions of it.

    Think of it like this:

Speed Density says, "at this MAP and this RPM, Load should be X, so IPW = Y". Simpler than MAF, yes, but if we make a change that affects VE (Load) at some rpm, there is no open loop compensation. SD doesn't work well without a lot of fiddling around.

Mass Airflow says, "at this MAF and this RPM, Load = X, so IPW = Y'. Unlike SD, it has some open loop compensation capability, but in return requires the unit to operate in only one housing to which its calibrated and looses resolution when you wish to get high HP numbers.

It is all a matter of give and take - sacrifice something to gain something else. As to which works best for any specific application is a combination of practicality and personal preference.

There is significant benefit from metering pressure and temperature post turbo. The stock MAF configuration is completely blind to post intercooler temp and pressure. There is no accounting for inefficient turbos or backpressure until you relocate post I/C.

Keywords are everything. Just found something called an MRP sensor. Stands for Manifold Relative Pressure sensor.

Trying to get more details on it. Sounds like I can't just buy one without signing up to become a dealer...
