    Squeal when turning steering wheel

On Friday, I was leaving a parking lot and my front left wheel went over the curb. The car seemed to drive fine immediately after. I went back to campus and haven't driven since last night.

Last night when I was parking in the campus parking lot, I noticed a squeal coming from the front left part of my car whenever I turned the steering wheel- left or right.

I start up the car today to leave, and notice the same thing. I drive to my friends house today (under 2 miles away), and when I park in his driveway, I didn't notice the sound. I don't notice it either when driving.

When I went back to campus to park, I hear the squealing. I turn off my car and turn the steering wheel, and the squeal is still there. Does this mean that the sound isn't power steering related?

What could the noise be? The car only seems to make the sound when Im in this one parking lot. I don't usually park in this lot, but I can't imagine that the sound is from the tires and road.

Edit: I dont notice any vibrations

Does it happen to be a concrete parking lot? Tires tend to squeal a bit more on concrete than on asphalt. Especially the shinny concrete in covered or indoor parking garages. You should also check your tire pressure, that could be contributing to it.

You need to have somebody turn the wheel while you listen so you can pinpoint the area the sound is coming from, or just take it to the alignment shop and have them look at it.

The parking lot doesn't appear to be concrete. Its outside. Ill check the tire pressure tomorrow.

My friends and I couldn't find exactly where it was coming from, but it sounds like its coming from somewhere around my left wheel. I took so much stuff for granted at home.. I have a hydraulic jack, and stands at home. I was cool with a mechanic 5 miles away, and he lets me throw my car on one of his lifts for nothing.

Ill have to take another look tomorrow.. but theres no way Im using my spare tire jack.

Check the power steering fluid level yet? I know you said it did it with the car off but I'd still rule out the other stuff.
