    Cool Tubular front crash bars

Just testing the waters to see if anyone is interested in tubular front crash bars. I saw the thread over on 3SI where the guy didn't pull through for people and the ones formerly sold by 3sx . I am not interested in getting in over my head or having anyone wait for excessive time to get theirs, and I will not take any payment until they are finished and ready to ship. I am planning on making about 10 or so of these for starters.

The bar is made from 13ga 1.5" steel tube, mandrel bent, welded to 3/16" steel bracket and rectangle tubing, and will be powdercoated wrinkle black. Each will be test fitted to ensure proper fitment. Works well with my '99 front bumper and FMIC with room to spare and should fit all years and style 3/S.

I am shooting for somewhere in the $200 range, depending on how much the coating costs of course.

ETA for these to be available for purchase should be around 2 weeks or so.

lol, I was actually thinking of doing these since Wayne isn't doing it anymore. I'd say you could sell quite a few.

I've always wanted one but the timing has always been wrong. It's wrong again, unfortunately I need an engine before I need a crash bar. Hell, I still need a 99 front bumper before I need a crash bar. It will happen eventually. I'm glad someone is still making these!

I realize that. But I don't see the benefit unless I were to cut open the top of the opening to take advantage of the increased clearance.

What is the weight difference between it and the stock aluminum bar?

I didn't weigh it, but I would guess its about the same just by feel. The stock aluminum one is pretty lightweight

The stock bumper gets in the way of a front mount IC and if you do get it mounted with it there it seems to block a lot of the flow and you can't use a shroud. If you aren’t using a FMIC then there isn’t any reason to go with one of these.
