The previous owner didn't put many miles on them and had some smoke back in 2011 when he last ran them. The guy he bought them from had one of Matt's DR turnkey cars the one he ran 10.69 with these turbos. I had a the DR-900 kit off Matt's red 95 VR-4 that put down 714AWHP. Since they hadn't been used for a few years the seals dried up, the turbos leaked, and they smoked so both had to be rebuilt. I wanted to at least forewarn you in case of a "surprise" when you get it all running. You won't be able to take off enough time to wait for the turbos to be rebuilt and sadly any T3 replacement will be as much as you paid for the whole kit. Also, you will need to move the front oil drain an inch lower in the oil pan.
Thanks for the heads up. At least if i see smoke ill know its not from my valve stem seals. I was really close to replacing these turbos with a pair of 6262's but decided to run these first. I guess i might be pulling the trigger on the 6262's a little early. The car is getting closer but i spent almost all day chopping fire wood and the rest of the day making a new front motor mount. The car is progressing though and getting close to firing up.

EDIT: has anyone ever run these Turbonetics 60mm turbos? T4 Comp Inducer 60mm T3 Turbine Inducer 57mm. I was looking at them for a while but i dont think ive ever seen any 3S run a set of turbonetics.

You want to put twin 6262's on a 3.0? Good luck spooling before redline.

well the car is coming along pretty nicely. so far everything has gone somewhat as planned except for the front motor mount. I still think that its very possible to install a full DR kit in 2 days, but since i spent most of my weekend doing house work i failed lol. Well today i got a ride to work (about 4 miles from home) from my mom, and a ride home in my new jeep!

My old mount was narrowed slightly to fit the 13T's however this caused a bad fitment with the DR kit. There was no way that i could install the oil return line and an intercooler coupler without ruining all integrity of my mount, so i welded up my own.

    Stockish narrowed mount:

I havent taken any pics in a while so ill get some more updated pics of the car almost together tomorrow.

Pics of my $1200 jeep. Nearly no rust, never taken offroad, really great condition. A girl i went to high school with was buying a new Subi and was offered $1200 trade in value for the jeep so she sold it to me instead of the dealership. The only issue with it is that the muffler has a leak, other than that its in mint condition.

I figure i can use it till my VR4 is back on the road then either sell it, or just keep it as a backup car.

I also forgot to mention that im very open to turbo options, so feel free to throw out some T3/T4 based turbos. Tomorrow ill call DR to see if i can get a price on a rebuild or DR1000 or DR1200 upgrade. I would like to keep the cost of both turbos under $2400ish so i wont be able to afford any billet ball bearing based turbos, but a nice name brand journal bearing with good hp potential should be within budget.

    Suggestions?

How much hp do you want? DR-1200s are huge for a 3.0L. It's a 57mm compressor inducer and 57mm turbine exducer. You probably won't see full boost until 5k rpms. I'm not so sure your motor would survive maxing them out and I doubt you're after that anyways. You may need a better piston/rod combo or crank. The PTE 5857 turbos are a similar size to the DR-1200s and made good power but again too large imo for a 3.0L. I bought my journal bearing pair for $1580 which is well within your price range.

Here's a few places you can look for some turbo options:

Garrett T Series Journal Bearing : Himni Racing, Turbocharger, Turbo, Garrett, Turbo Kit, GReddy, Mazda RX-7, HKS, Apexi, TiAL, TurboXS, TurboSmart, Flange, Turbonetics, Exhaust, Intercooler, ACT, Intake
Precision : Real Street Performance Engine Parts, Pistons Rods Cams Valvetrain and More

I don't know much about the PTE 5431 but it still seems a little large with the same T31 turbine. You may check into the 50 trim Garrett turbo with stage II turbine and a .48 A/R. Rebuilding your turbos may be the cheapest option if you don't need new wheels. Hopefully it might have been neglect of possibly locating the front oil drain 1" further down that caused some smoking the previous owner had.

DR1200's have run 10.15 at 140ish on a 3.0. I'm sure the power band rocks for 6k-8k. Keeps tq down also which saves rods.

I'd take this opportunity and go to the GTX 2860 turbos.
Garrett GTX2860R (400HP) Dual Ball Bearing Turbo - less turbine housing : atpturbo.com

    Turbine Housing, T3 5 bolt (ford style) Garrett .48 A/R for GT28RS/GT2871R/GT2876R/GTX28R : atpturbo.com

Just a little over budget. I'd lay you odds it'll be over 1000 to rebuild those 800s.

    Parting 6 speed
Pampena 3.5 Stroker, GTX 2867 Gen IIs, AEM Series2, oohnoo SMIC, DN Hardpipes, FIC 1650s, Walbro 525, aermotive fpr, Dejon intake pipes, Tial Q, Koyo Rad, Samco Hoses, Stoptech 332mm fronts, HKS GT4 Coilovers, Spec 4+ LW, JDM 6 Speed, Billet shift forks, Pampena brace
