I assume it was to cull the population

Most movies like this I can pick apart but I just try to enjoy them instead. Pacific Rim was waaay more stupid but I enjoyed that also.

I'm a sick and twisted person, so it's right up my alley. If you like the red band trailer, watch the movie.

That's fine and all, but when you are using a movie as a political statement, don't leave such gaping holes.

Pretty much my assessment as well. Dredd was much more enjoyable, as far as dystopian future movies go.

Pacific Rim was awesome. I saw it in 3D Imax and was blown away by the visuals and sound. just like a roller coaster simple and fun. not much thinking needed.

I guess I didn't view it as much of a political statement. Maybe it was billed as such and I didn't realize it. If it was for real I bet most of Hollywood would be up there.

What I mostly liked about the movie was the awesome special effects and action.
