He really wasn't that good, he was OK but wasn't great. Russell Brand was pretty funny. It's kind of a cheesy flick but I still found it entertaining. It was a Broadway musical that they made into a movie I believe.

    12 Years a Slave...

Warning, this is no means a "feel-good" movie. It's probably pretty accurate on how slaves were treated and was pretty heavy. Not wanting to give away too much, but I thought it would have been more uplifting in the end.

It's based on a true story, but is probably one of those movies that you see only once. When I left the theater I kept thinking...White people suck!

The acting was good, cinematography was very realistic, just depressing. That being said, I'd still give it a 7/10.

agreed. it's pretty obvious to even the most rabid of liberals by now that obama's critics aren't racist.

    I love Russell Brand.
I'll watch it now just to see him.

The Philosophers. 7/10, maybe a bit higher. Fairly interesting premise. Ending felt a bit contrived. I also have cognitive dissonance with the idea that a philosophy teacher can be someone who subscribes to such emotional pedestrianism.

The place beyon the pines 3/10
Came across as an indy flick, but turned out pretty ordinary. Like most movies where they have a chance to make a memorable movie and kill off someone in the end, everybody lives, main characters ride off into the sunset, and I throw the fucking remote!

It started good but it turned out shit imo. It's like they used left over bits from Chronicles (how he got to that planet) and then the taking poison/raising puppy litter thing made me go, wtf???
